We’re back for another day, Day 4, of the SARTRAC ACM2 being virtually hosted by the University of Southampton. Today was capacity building day, with guest speakers, PhD students and early career researchers leading the proceedings. Capacity building is a key component of the Global Challenges Research Fund (see here for further information), and is embedded into the centre of the SARTRAC programme.
Today we had Professor Mona Webber helping the team and visitors differentiate between sargassum morphotypes, and Dr Franziska Elmer identifying sargassum research capacity needs. We also welcomed the More than Maps team, who delivered workshops on stakeholder analysis and using Google Earth Engine in sargassum monitoring and management.
